How essential oils can help your sleep.

When I first got into using essential oils I wanted to be sure that the brand I chose was the best in quality I could find. In doing research I found that a lot of stores that sold ‘essential oils’, but the more I looked at the labels, the more I realized these ‘essential oils’ were not pure. Some even had chemicals added and water.

I ¬†was eventually introduced to Young Living oils and I have not turned back since. I bet your thinking ‘what has this got to do with sleep?’. I’m getting there I promise. Young Living offers a ‘Seed to Seal’ process, meaning that there is nothing added or taken away during the extraction process, It is 100% essential oil of the plant.

 

So why use essential oils for sleep?

Oils have been in use by humankind for hundreds of years. Think back to when there were no productions of medicines for pain or infections. People relied on oils for everyday use. Some oils when defused or added to a carrier oil such as Coconut oil, can be used to help you relax, unwind and even help promote sleep. Young Living have created specific blends for children, which is what I use for my two children at night.

My almost 3 year old is very active, (what 3 year old isn’t?), and I use my own blend of different oils in his room defuser each night while we read a book before bed. I also started using this sleep truing technique on him since he was 5 months old. He has slept 12+ hours per night since then.
